Brandon Coates Illustration

Creating designs, ideas, and illustrations for unique worlds.

Hi there and welcome to my website! My name is Brandon Coates and I am happy to share a little about myself!
I have been working as a concept artist and illustrator in the entertainment industry since 2015, and I graduated with a degree in Animation and Illustration in 2016.
I have been incredibly blessed to have worked with and learned from some of the most incredible people in the industry at studios like Tonko House, Pixar, and Sledgehammer Games. I am proud to have contributed to projects including The Dam Keeper Graphic Novel, Cars 3, Coco, and Call of Duty: WWII.
Though I may only have been working in the industry for a few years, I am incredibly passionate about supporting teams to create the most compelling and beautiful stories possible. As a concept artist my main mission is to problem solve, serve, and support others to help bring their visions to life. I also see communication -- visually and otherwise -- to be one of my most important duties, and I strive to always be clear, constructive, engaged critically, and fun to work with. When I work with a team my goal is to get people interested and excited by my work to propel the project forward.
Teaching and helping others is also a large passion of mine. It is incredibly rewarding to find clear and intriguing ways to explain ideas to people so that they can actually implement them in their own work or lives. I strive to be approachable and easy to talk with, so if you are a student or just interested in learning about art or the entertainment industry please don’t hesitate to reach out!
